the LumiVista B&B
offers Special Instruction in:
Learning to Read
and
English as a Second Language.
When conducting the review of literature for my dissertation for a Doctorate in Education I believe I found the key to unlocking the door to learning to read. I feel roughly one fourth of our children have not been able to unlock that door. I would like to share this discovery with you or someone in your family who needs help. I feel I can almost guarantee success because in my 30 years of teaching my method has rarely failed. The learner will catch onto this method in a few hours and then it is only a matter of practice.
I taught English as a Second Language (ESL) with the Department of Defense Overseas Schools (DoDDS) in Germany for 10 years. My method for teaching ESL uses children's literature and creative writing as the primary tools. I've had great success with this method even with adults.
My fee for tutoring is $30 an hour.

Accommodations --- OPEN ALL YEAR Long!
LumiVista Deluxe Bedroom
The LumiVista Deluxe Bedroom is a large, spacious bedroom with the same breath-taking view as seen from the deck or living room. At night, see the lights of the Mission Valley and the city of Ronan. See the moon and stars from your bedroom window. Be awakened by the sound of birds. See the morning glow of the sun bathing the mountains and the valley in the morning. Sleep on a plush, queen-sized bed with a pillow-top mattress, down comforter, and lots of pillows. Sit at a table in your bedroom to have coffee before breakfast or have breakfast served in your room. The bedroom also has a sit-down vanity with a large mirror. A truly private bath is attached.
Country-Western Suite
The Country-Western Suite is comprised of two separate bedrooms and a large bathroom in the north wing of the house. Ideal for a family, 2 couples traveling together, or couples who sleep separately. Or one room can be used as a sitting room, dressing room, or TV room if it is not used as a sleeping room. A swinging door closes the suite off from the rest of the house and gives you complete privacy. The bedrooms have queen-sized beds with pillow-top mattresses. The rooms are decorated in early Montana decor. Family portraits and heirlooms give them a personal touch.
In the "Country" bedroom a portrait of my mother, taken in the roaring 20's, hangs on the wall. A beautiful quilt, made by a Crow Indian woman, covers the bed and many antiques adorn the room. From this bedroom window you can see the ever changing view of the "Big Sky" above the Mission Valley below. Awaken in the morning to the crow of the rooster.
In the "Western" bedroom a portrait of my father, old time cowboy and cattle rancher, hangs on the wall. A Pendleton, Indian design, wool blanket covers the bed and many western antiques fill the room.

The food and hospitality was great. Breakfast on the deck was wonderful. We felt like we were at home. Thank you so very much! Connie Roberts and Michele Bickel - Newburough, Indiana
My family had the pleasure of staying at the LumiVista Bed and Breakfast for two memorable weeks. We picked this excellent location because it is reasonably priced and close to so many wonders of Montana. Prior to our trip, I created a full itinerary of fun activities my family would enjoy. All of this information was available on the LumiVista website. There are numerous links to obtain all the details needed to plan a great vacation. Out hostess was also knowledgeable about details about the area and could answer questions. We hiked, went whitewater rafting, mountain biking, rode the gondola at Big Mountain, cruised on a racing sailboat (the Questa), took an incredible helicopter ride over the Mission Mountains, hiked some more, went antique shopping, and spent lots of time back at the LumiVista playing volleyball, basketball or watching movies on the DVD player. The accommodations met all of my varied family's needs. My children explored and adventured in the scenic wilderness surroundings and the teepee. It was a relaxing get-a-way for me, where I could be close to nature, sit out on the deck and lose myself in the beauty around me. The sunsets and view of the valley with surrounding mountains, can also be seen from the large living room with a ceiling high wall of glass. The hostess keeps a lovely and comfortable house where we all felt very much at home. Plants and flowers are everywhere. The well kept and modern decor is flavored with a western cozy flare. The food was prepared with skill and flavored with great care and experience. We learned that the hostess herself is the mother of 8 grown children and many grandchildren. She made every effort to make each of us feel important and enjoy our stay...and, indeed we did!! We hope to visit again. Thank you! Ellen Rothman and Family - Aurora, Illinois
You're a wonderful hostess and a good cook. Your home is lovely and spacious. Sure love it all. God bless you. You're a wonderful niece. I love you. Auntie Aggie - Portland, Oregon
Good luck in your endeavor. The food and hospitality were great. I wished I lived closer so I could come here more often. Art Mautz - Portland, Oregon
With such a beautiful view, great food, and wonderful hospitality, you should do great. The kids enjoyed playing outside. Great place for a family. Thank you!! Steve and Nellie Becle, Jon and Zac - Missoula, Montana
We came here in search of my Great Grandmother's legacy (Mary Ronan) and this was our first stop. We couldn't have picked a warmer and a more wonderful place to stay. Bernadine, you are a gentle spirit and a magnificent hostess. Your home is warm and peaceful - the setting couldn't have made us feel anymore at home. AND - You make the BEST breakfasts! All the best - stay in touch. We feel we have made a new friend. Thank you for everything! Mary and David Hayes - Nashville, Tennessee
The breakfast was delicious. The kids ate all! We slept in the tipi and felt the cool breeze. It was awesome. Thank you so much and we'll be back! Daliah Maurer,, Elia Norton. and Caitlyn - Austin, Texas
The views are beautiful and the breakfasts delicious - I'm carrying a couple more pounds back to Louisiana to prove I've been here! My favorite thing here is the Quiet - - No city noises - only a clucking chicken. Thanks for your wonderful hospitality! Anne Brabham - New Orleans, LA
Thanks for the wonderful hospitality. The house is great - the views from
